pictureStrollers: walks of 3 - 4 miles at an easy pace

Convenors: Ann Lawrence, Christopher Thomas and Hazel Thomas

The walks are for members of this group only, and you have to book a place on each walk with the organiser of the walk, so that the group is not unmanageably large.

Walks are often on uneven and sometimes hilly ground, and paths are often muddy, so good walking boots are essential for most walks. We must be satisfied that you are able to do the walks without problems. Suitable waterproof and warm clothing is essential - we do not cancel when it rains.

This group has vacancies.

We can often arrange for you to come with other members for the first time, if you would like to.

Members accept lifts and come on walks at their own risk, and should be responsible for their own safety when crossing roads or climbing stiles.

We expect members to travel to outdoor activities and to participate at their own risk. During the activity they are responsible for their own safety at all times. Depending on the activity duration and difficulty, members should wear suitable clothing for the conditions and consider carrying their own water, snacks and simple first aid kit.

Most walks include a pub lunch. The walk ends up at a pub (often the one the walk started from). Not everyone stays for the pub lunch, and you are often asked to order your lunch (through the walk leader) several days in advance, to give the pub fair notice.
