'Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words' Robert Frost.
We are a friendly group of amateur poetry lovers who welcome the chance to share our enthusiasm for this unique written form with like-minded colleagues. Themes for our meetings are arrived at by mutual agreement; all participants are encouraged to take a turn in leading our discussions.
Recently we have shared poems on the subject of conflict and explored the poetry of john Donne. Later this year group members will be leading discussions on the Liverpool Poets and Edward Thomas and we hope to schedule a session on William Blake also. We shall intersperse these with themed sessions, the next one being 'Animals'.
We meet on the First Wednesday of the month at 10.00 in the Pottery Room, Amersham Community Centre and our next three meeting dates are 6th May, 3rd June and 1st July .
The group is currently full but we are running a waiting list: if you feel that this could be for you, please contact either Murray or Linda through the email address above.
