New Groups

Acoustic Guitar 2

Building on the success of the Acoustic Guitar group, convened by Michael Coker, Peter Davies is convening a second group 4th Wednesday at 10.00am in the Amersham Community Centre Lounge (first room on the right) in the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre.
We’ll welcome beginners as well as those who can already play a bit and who are happy to share their experience. Any genre and all styles are welcome although mostly songs are usually drawn from the popular middle of the road repertoire from the 1960’s to the present day. We’ll look at common chord sequences and song structures and see how to play them. We could also look at the guitar itself and how best to set it up for ease of play. Some local mystery guests might also be invited to talk to us about themselves and demonstrate their style of play.

Groups with Vacancies

Wine Tasting 2 (WT2) meets monthly from 14:00 to 16:30 mainly at the Amersham Community Centre. There is a charge of £10 per head, and we aim to taste around 8 wines per session, which lasts about two hours. Do you like wine and want to learn more? The group has vacancies.

Yoga 2 has 4 vacancies that we would like to fill. All abilities are welcome and our experienced practitioner offers a variety of routines to suit all. No special equipment is needed apart from a yoga mat and comfortable clothing. You are welcome to come for a free taster session before joining.

Our meetings usually start with a talk or sharing of experience on some aspect of photography. We cover both pictorial topics, such as composition and lighting, digital imaging, looking at techniques and technologies to process images using a variety of photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, Affinity etc. The meeting format is varied to appeal to all levels of expertise.

Whenever there is a fifth Friday in a month we organise a group photoshoot to a suitable location or event, with a selection of members' images being shown at a later meeting.


Group Activities

For 2026 the Striders group are undertaking a section each month of the 53-mile Outer Aylesbury Ring route which has dynamic views across the Chilterns including Aylesbury Vale.
