Our Aim
To enjoy theatre together in a friendly, inclusive and sociable way — discovering new shows, making new friends, and sharing enriching experiences.
If you love the theatre — or simply enjoy a good afternoon out — the Theatre Goers Group is for you. We aim to explore as wide a range of theatrical genres as possible, from drama and comedy to musicals and more.
We also take advantage of special offers and discounts whenever they arise. As these opportunities often require a quick response to secure the best seats and prices, many visits are not advertised in the newsletter. By joining the group, you’ll be among the first to hear about exciting shows and ticket availability.
To help members stay informed, we have an active WhatsApp group where we share updates, reviews from newspapers and friends, details of spare tickets, and notifications when seats become available due to changes in circumstances.
If you would like to get involved in helping to organise our outings — no matter how small the role — you would receive a very warm welcome. Planning meetings are relaxed and sociable, with refreshments (and cake!) provided.
Details of future plays and events will be sent directly to Theatre Goers Group members as they are arranged.
We look forward to welcoming you. We do not have any vacancies at the moment but there is a waiting list if you would like to add your name to that.
Please note: only u3a members are covered, on outings, by the u3a insurance. If we have vacancies, you may be able to invite a guest but only if they are a member of Cu3a or another u3a. Please check first that there are vacancies. Should you cancel your booking no refund will be possible if the ticket cannot be resold.
